Psychiatrists

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology requires 90 credits of CME every 3 years, and 24 of those must be self-assessment CME. This podcast offers 316 CME, of which 24 can be used for self-assessment after you complete episode quizzes and one of the self-assessment quizzes.

Nurse practitioners

AANPCB requires 100 contact hours of advanced CE in 5 years, including 25 hours of pharmacology. At this time, these credits may be applied toward non-pharmacology CE. The activities are provided through a joint providership with the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, an ACCME-accredited provider. Keep your certificates. Membership for nurse practitioners is the standard yearly price.

Physician assistants

NCCPA requires 100 hours of CME every two years, with 50 in Category 1. These activities are Category 1 through UC Irvine. Self-assessment CME is awarded an extra 50% by the NCCPA. Keep Category 1 documentation for the current cycle and the previous one.

Psychologists

Requirements are state by state. In California, 36 hours of CE are required each 2-year renewal, and the Board accepts courses from ACCME-accredited providers. Keep records for 4 years. Questions about your state: dr@psychiatrypodcast.com.

Registered nurses

ANCC requires 75 continuing education hours in five years. Activities sponsored by the ACCME are formally approved. The activities are a joint providership with UC Irvine and are approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Save every certificate.
